Our collective / Our purpose
Whose stories get told?
Who gets to tell them?
The meaning behind the name.
Black Bald is personal, and it’s a play on “blackballed”: being shut out, passed over, or denied a place. The name speaks to a question that drives our work: who gets to tell the story, and whose perspective gets left out?
Our scratch-to-reveal logo carries that idea into motion—bringing what’s underneath into view.

Our mission.
We bring together distinct voices, styles, and lived experiences to create documentaries, campaigns, and films that make room for stories too often overlooked—and the filmmakers who see them differently.
Rooted in the Pacific Northwest and led by founder Dru Holley, our collective builds a team around each story. We connect creative talent with communities, organizations, and audiences, from the first conversation through the final frame.
